master's course work.
For this project, the focus was on an important educational need in the classroom and how to use a technology to address the concern. I chose to focus on student conflict in the classroom. This lesson has students resolving classroom conflicts through recorded role playing. |

I developed an online course to teach a science unit on animal adaptations to third grade students. Because third graders do not have much experience using computers and the internet, I wanted to make sure I kept the course very simple and user friendly. One of the ways I did this was by using a similar lay out on each page of the course. Another way that I made my course easier for students to use was by adding screen casts to explain how to navigate through the more confusing parts of the course. I also added recordings of myself reading the text on the pages for the students who are struggling readers.

I created this lesson plan for a writing unit. The unit incorporates students writing personal narratives and publishing them by creating a digital story using the IPad app called Shadow Puppet Edu. |

This Digital Slideshow demonstrates a lesson I taught on the solar system. The focus of this assignment was to demonstrate how the students use Piaget's "Cognitive Constructivist Theory" to construct their own knowledge and learning through experience. |
I created this podcast using Audacity. In the podcast, you will hear me interviewing one of my students on the topics of sunrise and sunset. My focus of the interview was to see what misconceptions the student might have about this topic. Through this assignment I learned a lot about student's prior misconceptions and how a teacher needs to be aware of these when teaching a lesson. |

This screencast teaches others about the differences between instrumental and missional thinking. This is an important concept to share because it teaches others how missional thinking is preferred to ensure that there is a positive influence on students by having a purpose behind the choices that are made for schools. My personal manifesto is a way to share the resources and practices that I use in my 3rd grade classroom to create a rich and safe learning environment for my students. This culture is created by having a classroom with organization, structure, and management so the students feel comfortable and safe. |
Here is a research paper I wrote on Game-Based Learning (GBL). The purpose of the paper is to teach other educators about GBL and how it can be incorporated into the classroom. GBL is a great way to motivate and engage students in the classroom. |
